Manaka Yurihiko was born in Tokyo, Japan. Her parents were part of an organized crime task force, trying to control the Yakuza. Her father and mother started training her in basic self defense when she was barely old enough to walk. When she was only 8 years old, the Yakuza killed her parents in a bloody confrontation on the docks of Tokyo. Taken in by a distant uncle, she was raised to fear the Yakuza, constantly being told they were looking for her, to destroy her entire family for the 'sins of her parents'.

When she was 10, her uncle (being a bit paranoid himself) decided the best bet for safety was to move to America. They settled around Century Station when she was 12 and opened a little convenience store in a rundown section of town. She was not allowed out of the house very often, and her uncle worked an average of 18 hours a day in the store, so the TV was her only companion. Fascinated by the movies with martial arts in them, she remembered her old training, and took to copying the moves she saw on TV. Over the years, she developed her own style, and practiced it daily, for hours at a time while her uncle worked. When he found out about it, he just laughed, calling her baka (stupid).

One night, her uncle's store was robbed, and he was killed. She was in the back room when she heard the gunshot, and ran out just as the thugs were leaving. She got a clear look at one...and the image of the scar on his cheek was branded in her mind. Once the money ran out at home, she had no choice...not wanting to go to an orphanage, or foster care, she left the small apartment, and found a reasonably dry and warm place to crash. She still kept her training up, determined to never be a victim, and to find the punk who killed her only remaining family member.

One night, just a year ago, she saw him again. She followed him at a distance, trying to determine where he lived/stayed, so she could get her vengeance. While she was following him, she saw him enter another store, not unlike her uncle's. As she moved closer, she heard the first shot...followed by several more. By the time she reached the door, the shopkeeper, his wife, and their 2 children were dead...the thug and his two friends standing over them, laughing. The first thug never knew she was there as she grabbed a broom nearby and thrust the end of it against the back of his neck, immediately breaking the vertebra there. Not stopping for an instant, she swept the handle around, knocking the second thug to the ground. The leader was just beginning to bring his weapon up when the end of the broom handle shattered his windpipe. The thug she had swept off his feet quickly met the same fate, the two of them laying there, gasping out their last breaths as she stood over them, barely breathing hard. "That is for my uncle..." were the last words they heard.

Now, a year later, she stalks the streets, wanted by the gangs for disrupting their 'business', and by the police for various assault charges (they haven't been able to prove she is responsible for any of the dead gang members). No clear description of her has ever been given, usually just 'some crazy Asian chick' is all her 'victims' remember.

Now, she hears of a new group of 'heroes'. She is laying low for a while, until she can determine if they are looking for her, or if they are like her...looking to clean the streets of some scum. She hopes they won't interfere with her 'hunting'...
