Player Name: Gray
YIM Handle: survival.grayman

Character Name: Outrider
Alias:
Race: Transferred Intelligence Robot
O.C.C.: Pathfinder
Alignment: Unprincipled

Sentiments/Non-Humans: Unusual number of organics. Population centers noted.
Sentiments/Coalition: Militant. Rash. Avoid.
Disposition: Self-reliant, but will take on a partner. More likely someone well traveled.
Insanity: Due to so much time being spent in isolation and now finding himself in this contradictory world Outrider suffers from Psycho-Reliance (focused on his probe Gipsy, suffering -5% on all skills, -3 save vs Horror, -3 Initiative, and -1 combat rolls when it is out of sight), Manic Depressive (alternates depressive [-15% on all skills, Perception and combat bonuses halved] and manic [+10% on all skills, +2 Initiative]), and an obsession love of Rifts (will explore any he comes across or talk about them at length).

Depth Tolerance (2600')

(You said a 25% penalty to speed due to terrain. Top speed in motorcycle mode is 120 so reduced to 90. 1350' per melee. 337.5' per action. Not sure on damage since I'm an MD Robot and they are wearing MD armor. HU2 states I'd do 1d6 SDC per 10 mph to pedestrians, taking 1/3 that myself for a full hit. Sideswipe is half as much damage. I'm going for knock-downs/forced dodges for their lost actions so I do not mind if there is no damage.)

Background Story
TI Origins
Originally a peaceful people nestled in an unexplored nook of the Titrana Quadrant within the Milky Way. They were an advanced society, versed mostly in the field of robotics. Through their sporadic exploration they knew the nature of those around them and chose, rather than colonize, to consolidate and prepare. So the divisions were formed. T.R.E. to gather, S.E.R. to prepare, and others to handle other affairs, and a council to oversee them.

No one remembers who was the first to scorn their flesh and blood body and transfer his essence into a Core, and eventually a Body. Many soon followed in the footsteps of these Trans, despite the cries of their brethren. Time enough soon passed that they became commonplace. It helped that they took on the jobs others could not safely.

Though others within newer generations would join them, they were not beyond emotion and the desire to reproduce. A method was discovered, an intermediary built that was dubbed the Progenitor could take fragments of the 'parents' and create a new 'child'. Born with the intellect of a on par with someone 20 solar cycles in age, many of the traditions and basic skills were automatically passed down. It then took little time to train them in the occupation of their choosing.

Invasion
Their peaceful and mostly secluded way of life would come crashing down when the Toogarth Empire took note of their world. Though they thought themselves prepared, the sheer brutality of the reptilian conquest left the planet decimated. Most of the population was lost. Trans while defending the organics. And most Organics when the Trans were finally routed.

Those that did escape, mostly Trans, found the travel harsh as they moved deeper into the quadrant to distance themselves from the Toogarth. Organics soon were forced into Trans bodies as the travel and radiation proved too much.

Haven
Their new home was a desolate moon, long since plundered of most resources and too near a sun to be habitable by most. Here they established a new world. A new order. Their Haven. And created the first of a new Phase from the remains of the fallen and their ship. Their entire civilization now only a colony of less than one hundred.

In isolation they continued. The Council once again reigned, and metered out power and resources for the betterment of all. It took time, but the first new Phase was created. Half a dozen strong. Created by the Progenitor from the collective conscious of the entire colony. It was ruled these new Phases would be made every quarterm (20 solar cycles). And so life went on for them.

T.R.E.
Terraforming and Resources Evaluation. The division of choice for explorers at heart, or those that have reasons to go off world, reformed within the first Phase. For Outrider of the Fourth Phase, it was exploring that drew him to it. And the promise of upgrades. Dropping into possibly hostile environs, the council put less restrictions on what upgrades T.R.E. members could obtain upon completion of each quin (5 solar cycles) long mission. Plus the possibility of landing in worlds advanced enough to have their own options for upgrades.

Knowing from the start this would be a life for him is how Outrider set out, rather than a few quin of service. Opting early for versatility, he sacrificed a lot compared to others of his phase. He prepared for his first mission on a barren, primitive planet with large expanses of land with a two wheeled FRS. After a quin spent in isolation on a world seemingly stripped of resources already he activated the beacon on his drop pod for pickup. By then a fixation had formed on his probe, the only companion he had for so long. Now named Gipsy.

His second mission was to be a lush planet with an abundance of life and more water than land mass. Rather than replace his motorcycle configuration with something suited for water he had a second FRS added, this time a water sled, as his post mission upgrade. Effectively making him the 'runt' of his phase. A fact they did not let him live down even after launch. But all that would be forgotten once the pod landed, he hoped.

Rifts
Awakening early to a cacophony of warning sirens and sensors picking up all manner of fluctuating readings. Outrider did his best to correct course, to avoid whatever was making the readings go ballistic. Moments later most were fried for reasons he couldn't tell. He figured soon he would be next, regretting his existence had only lasted a couple of solar cycles.

Reserves kick in. Proximity sensors sounded. The rapid deceleration thrusters failed to automatically fire so he rushed to get them back online. He managed just in time, though the impact was still enough to crack the hull in several places. Still, he managed to emerge no worse for wear and get his first look at this new world. Not unlike where he was destined for, Outrider was initially unaware just how off course he ended up.

Almost immediately upon exiting the pod a giant organic 'dinosaur', he later learned it was called, destroyed his crashed pod and effectively stranded Outrider on this planet. Possibly cut off entirely from his home despite his desire to explore, issues developed. His mood would shift drastically several times within this planet's lunar cycle.

Eventually discovering what tore him from his original destination and dumped him here was a 'Rift', Outrider became obsessed. Seeing them as a possible path home he had to explore each and every he came across. But not without trepidation, or end up even further from home.

Dinosaur Swamp
Finding himself in the middle of a swamp filled with massive organics, Outrider did what he trained for and enjoyed. Explored. Infrequently becoming lost as his emotional state shifted, within the last year of trekking he managed to become intimately familiar with the area. More so than he was his own home world.

Only managing to escape the initial disaster with a microwave pistol, he discovered quite quickly it worked well on organics within non-metallic armor. From there his life depended entirely on found weapons, particularly when the monstrous 'dinosaurs' were around. Spotted through his exploration he managed to find heavy weapons, robotic vehicles. Already mostly destroyed armor and ammunition depleted from previous battles, they never lasted long. But his forced dependance on them had him learning the basics in enough time.

Slowly the realization came that these robotic armors were going to be key in him surviving more encounters with 'rifts' and possibly returning home. He was no fixer, though he was starting to tinker with his drone's AI. So that left only two choices, learn the skills or find someone with them. Both meant leaving the swamp, and following rumors he had heard of a mercenary town where he might join a group to gather funds and resources.

Goals
Short Term
Realizing private contract work is spotty, and so is the likelihood of getting paid for it, Outrider heads further inland where he's heard numerous mercenary groups can be found. Providing consistent services as a scout will allow him to explore and gather resources for other endeavors.

Mid Term
The hostility of this world has Outrider realizing he is currently ill prepared. Upgrades to his equipment, Gipsy, and himself are a priority so that he might better survive. As are skills that increase his utility and survivability.
--Skill Acquisition
•Heavy Weapons skills to gain an advantage in ambush scenarios. COMPLETE
•Computer and AI skills to upgrade Gipsy on own. Lack of trust in others to alter 'personality' tied to Psycho-Reliance. COMPLETE
--Personal Upgrades
[size=85]•Concealed Micro Hover System to add hover and limited flight capabilities.
•Upgrade Audio, Optics, and Sensor Arrays
•Incorporate Nuclear or Micro Fusion Cell into Power plant to extend service times.
•Tie Force field into personal power supply.

--Gipsy Upgrades
(Must be present for upgrades or do himself, tied to Psycho-Reliance.)
•Upgrade to more advanced AI.
•Upgrade Audio, Optics, and Sensory Arrays.
•Add weapon and utility upgrades.
TOP SECRET

--Equipment Upgrades
•Replace skirts with MDC material. Possible use as shields.
•Integrate E-Clip charging capabilities and weapon storage into skirts.
•Acquire melee weapons and weapons better suited for ambush or possible underwater combat.
•Upgrade Microwave Pistol damage if possible.
•Work with Operator or MercTown store to incorporate 'accessories' into FSE-clip slot of Particle Beam Pistol. Base on FSE-clip if possible so compatible with all FSE-clip weapons.
-Vibro Bayonet (Ripper variant if possible)
-Contact Stunner (equivalent to Neural Mace)
    -Weapon light and laser sight.

Long Term
Currently still having the desire to return to his home dimension, Outrider will continue to research dimensional travel and Rifts as he comes across them. With his pod destroyed, new transportation will have to be found.
--Skill Acquisition
•Basic robot piloting skills. COMPLETE
•Weapon Systems and Sensory Equipment to effectively pilot a robot vehicle. COMPLETE
•Knowledge on Rifts or Dimensional Travel. Supplementary knowledge on creatures that use these methods of travel as well.
•Consider possibility of having to perform most work by self. Observe where to learn such skills.

--Transportation Acquisition
•Accommodations for at least one, no more than two, persons of Outrider's stature.
•Mobility still a factor. Land and air capabilities needed, sea a bonus.
•Possibility of replicating FRS system should be investigated.
